Legal Counsel

Indira Gomes

Indira Gomes has been a Legal Counsel at the African Legal Support Facility since July 2022. She integrates the operations division, supporting projects primarily in the infrastructure, Public Private Partnership (PPP) and energy sectors.

Prior to joining the ALSF, Ms Gomes worked in the oil and gas sector in Timor-Leste as a legal counsel for the National Oil Company. She led the company's legal department in supporting various business activities, from upstream to downstream operations and related infrastructure projects.

Indira Gomes is admitted into practice in Sao Tome and Principe and is a member of the country's Association of Female Legal Practitioners ("Associação São-tomense de Mulheres Juristas"). She holds a Law degree and Master's in Enterprise Juridical Sciences from the Nova University of Lisbon, as well as an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King's College London. She is a member of the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AEIN).
