Principal Legal Counsel & Head of the Capacity Building Unit

Nnewuoghor Okhai-Akhigbe

Nnewuoghor Okhai-Akhigbe is a Senior Legal Counsel at the African Legal Support Facility and has been with the ALSF since September 2018.

Before the ALSF, Oghor was Head of Legal at Chapel Hill Denham with responsibilities for legal and transaction support on investment banking and financial advisory transactions including debt and equity capital raising, corporate and government bond issuances, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and project finance transactions. Prior to joining Chapel Hill Denham she worked as Specialist, Legal Services, responsible for providing legal support to the shared office and commercial business groups. She also acted as compliance officer. She worked as an associate at Udo, Udoma & Belo-Osagie, advising on a variety of transactions, including project financing, public private partnerships, oil & gas and mergers & acquisitions.

Oghor was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2008. She holds an MSc in Finance and Financial Law from the University of London, an LLM in Petroleum Taxation and Finance from the University of Dundee and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Kent.
